Erin R. Dooley spent 14 years in nonprofit marketing and communications before she felt God nudging her toward something new: making films. 

Her path to filmmaking started while she was still working full-time. She made her first feature film, Broken & Beautiful, a faith-based musical, on the side. When she lost her job, she pivoted to film full-time. After her divorce, she walked the Camino de Santiago and moved to Los Angeles to more fully follow the call to being a writer and filmmaker.

Out of that season came A Way to Forgiveness, a documentary about walking 500 miles across Spain to find healing and to forgive. It became her most talked-about work and the foundation for one of her most requested talks — helping audiences move through the wounds they've been carrying, with practical steps, personal honesty, and more than a few laughs along the way.

She continued to make more films and tell more stories in different mediums, like her scripted podcast and a novella. The documentary also gave her a platform to speak — at churches, retreats, conferences, and women's groups across the country — about forgiveness, purpose, and what it actually looks like to follow God into the uncomfortable and unexpected.

Foster care came the same way. A quiet, persistent call led to years of volunteering with foster organizations to discern what God was asking of her. She ultimately got licensed and opened her home to a teenager. That experience deepened everything she already believed about what it means to be pro-life — and gave her one more story worth telling.

Today Erin speaks, writes, and makes films that circle back to the same questions: What does it take to trust God? What does it cost to forgive? And what happens when ordinary people say yes anyway?
